guess other countries dont have the same med laws as we do (or just dont care?)
but yeah some of those pain meds are very very addictive (watch house sometime--he seems to have tried just about all of them--some at the same time!)

well got my hair cut--I can see again without hair in my eyes--its a nice change, and got my mommy a mother's day card--just hope it gets there before sunday (doubt it, they dont call it snail mail for no reason, and sorry no, my mom never made it into the computer age).

bison burgers last night, a nice change from beef (still like beef best, but bison is better for ya')

and I think I need to talk to my elves again---seems daaang cold for MAY!

And Bison burgers sound really filling right now. I'm a half-starved traveler, going back home for Mother's Day, and sitting down in this internet cafe right now.

And DANG IT IS COLD FOR MAY. IT'S/WAS SNOWING IN NEBRASKA and on my way through Utah and Wyoming (Zero visibility snowstorm/blizzard going east on I-80 through Utah, which is terrible, because the road from Utah-> Wyoming is ALL GOING UP MOUNTAINS, I still have yet to DESCEND from that ELEVATION). >.>

Anyone else goin' to cheer up the mom for mother's day?

will be seeing my mom this month, but not this weekend, and not for any reason that I really want to. She lives in a 'retirement' center, and has to move into another unit designed for more care (she can no longer walk and can barely sit up)...so I get to help inventory her stuff that she cant have in the new room ....not why I would want to go to florida (no wont see the sun, nor a beach though there are palm trees on the property---)....not that I need any sun anyways---its BAAAD for you!

AH I remember driving thru those areas....did the drive thru nebraska in a snow storm, wyoming in a wind storm (with trailer on the car)....not something I wish to repeat any time--ever!

Bison burgers are surprisingly delicious. Very good, had them once. I was amazed. No wonder the Indians really liked bison!

I had Avanti's for dinner. My professor took all of us out to eat so it was a free meal. Win.

Ahhh... retirement homes. It's against my family practices to put a parent in one... My [Asian] family traditions typically make it so the parents move in with the children once the children can stand up for themselves... But so far, I've managed to avoid that, being the youngest *cough*blacksheep*cough*whitewashed*cough*banana*c ough* ahem. Sorry, I'll continue.

Nothing for dinner... again... and still traveling. I need to cut back on this spending, as I'll have nothing for the trip back if I don't... (why did I go to a college that was across the whole entire country!?!?! and with gas prices right now... >.>).

Avanti's sounds good; never been there, but looked it up, and it sounded darn solid (NO! NO MOAR SPENDING!!! QQ). Living off of good ol' PB&J atm; that's what I spend my $5 on for the next 5 days on food >.>

What are you majoring in? I want a professor who buys free lunch.

it was her choice, its not a retirement home like the ones you see in the movies...she OWNS her unit ...and when she needs to move to a different one, she will OWN it as well. And I live in an apartment, there is no place for her here--and I am the youngest of her kids--if we go by the asian way, my oldest brother who has a delinquent son would have wound up with her (he is not in good health nor is his wife).....my brother is 13 years older than I am and most of the places I have lived she would not have wanted to be. She picked florida and I have a sister there (who has lived at more different addresses in the last 20 years than I have pages to put them on in my address book).

and yes avanti's is a place I would even make a point of going to middle illinois to eat at...again.

I don't think my parents or grandparents will ever want to be put in a retirement home. They like their independence and freedom to do what they want. I don't see them being happy if they had to be put in one.

The middle of Illinois does have some perks to visiting, though not that many.

my mom had independence at this place....the new retirement communities (yeah I have been looking into them--upon my mothers requests)...have lots that the old nursing homes didnt-----most now offer not just the one big building with lots of rooms and nurses running around. You can now live in a house on their property, or an apartment with your own parking spaces etc....and when you need to have more help you can move to their skilled nursing care centers, LOTS of people I know have moved into these. You own the house or apartment so you can basically do with it as you wish--most of the time the lawns are taken care of too (if you have a house). These things are their own communities, they have weight rooms, pools, tennis courts, physical therapy trainer/rehab facilities, stores (for staple items like tp, milk etc), theaters, as well as meal facilities. Its a big business in some places (gee florida has TONS of them--as does arizona).....
so its not the old retirement homes we remember from bad movies etc. My mom even had a bridge club when she lived in the apartment there, she had her dog and could come and go as she pleased--and if she needed help, it was ON the grounds--no waiting for an ambulance to get there.
it was what she was looking for at the time, and yeah it may not be for everyone who is getting older, but some like to know they are going to be a burden on their families and do want to keep some independence while still having help be very very close by.

Welp, just checked my email. My computer has shipped! So I looked at the estimated delivery date, which is Tuesday. So for kicks'n'giggles I checked the tracking information. Turns out it is out for delivery right NOW! To be here today! Excited!

a new computer is always fun to get (or build)....and yeah, ending the 'school year' is kind of multi-emotioned....you are happy that they year has gone, but then you are sad because the year is over--- but, pwnd, just think come fall you will be a real live teacher on your own!! (and graduation should be a happy time to--though it also falls into the multi category)

and yeah, my mom was pretty happy with the place when she picked it (now there are tons of them everywhere--and she still wonders if one of the other places would be even better---yes the grass in probably greener someplace else)

Nope, I ordered from Dell. It was a customized XPS that actually is pretty good for the price I got it. Now I'm just trying to get everything downloaded on it and set up like my old computer. Which I am still currently on since the new one is downloading stuff.

I prefer books with plots imo.

I have had good luck with Dell tbh, and so has my gf. So I got this one. I should really list the specs but I'm too lazy to do that atm. Maybe tomorrow I will. My old Dell lasted 5 years, which is pretty good. It's still going but just barely. So I upgraded to this XPS which retails at around $1000-1200 but I got it for $950 after tax. So not bad at all. Has everything I wanted.

Price of gas dropping? Are you kidding? It's still is a whopping $4.50 a gallon over here.... oh wait, I always forget I'm reliant on premium-grade.

I've never heard of Spring. Last I checked there was still snow dropping from the sky.

Oh and I won a bet with one of my friends for successfully getting an Infraction Warning on this forum (he didn't find me capable). I am now 50k richer in game... >.> Now let's see if he'll bet anything if I go for a ban...

At that, I just finished Thorne's book and now moving on to a classic I heard of a while back, called Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World... so far, it's pretty awkward and intelligent stuff. At least it's not Thoreau and over-the-head status... for now.

It's supposed to be like 90 here today. No lie. Supposed to cool down on the weekend but today and tomorrow are supposed to be 80's and 90's. I'm thinking the air might be turned on.

Gas has dropped a bit. It went from $4.28 to $4.05 over the past week. But it needs to drop a hell of a lot more.

Not exactly a good thing to be trying to get a ban... Even for an in-game reward.
